Wymore Volunteer Employment

The Wymore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is recruiting Volunteer Firefighters and Rescue Personnel.  We are especially in critical need of volunteers who would be interested in becoming Emergency Medical Technicians, or if you are already an LPN or RN, to provide patient care on Rescue calls.

We are looking for men and women with the desire and dedication to serve their community in this critical role.  Once you join our team, you will have the opportunity to receive training in:

  • Structural Firefighting
  • Wildland Firefighting
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Vehicle Extrication

We also provide continuing education training including Firefighter 1, Emergency Medical Technician training and other related classes, seminars and conferences.

Minimum Application Requirements:
All applications for membership must be made in writing on an official application.  Any person over 18 years of age, being physically able to perform fire or rescue duties, have no felony or major misdemeanor convictions, may make application to join the department.  The application shall be reviewed by the executive board and if accepted, the applicant shall be brought before the City Council at a regular council meeting and the applicant is subject to approval by the Wymore City Council.  There is no requirement to live within the city limits of Wymore.

This will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.  We would like to sit down with you, answer your questions, and have you meet the Firefighters and EMT's who serve your community today.  You will get to meet some of your future team members and we will give you a tour of the station.  Please call Mark Meints, Rescue Chief, at 402-645-3945 to set up an appointment.
