Wymore is located in Gage County in Southeast Nebraska. Served by US Highway 77, Wymore is 52 miles south of Lincoln, 114 miles southeast of Omaha, and 167 miles north of Kansas City. Wymore is 1,227 feet above sea level with a population of 1,656.
Wymore lies in the fertile valley of the Big Blue River, and the terrain in the area is level to gently rolling. The majority of soil types in the area are silty clay with good surface drainage. The basic economic activities consist of farming, retail sales and small manufacturing.
Wymore is a second class city with a mayor – council form of government. Wymore has two wards and the term of office for both the mayor and the council is four years.

Wymore hosts a number of civic organizations dedicated to preserving Wymore’s history and moving Wymore ahead for future generations.
American Legion Anderson Post #25 ~ 815 West D Street ~ Donald Jenkins, Commander, Donald Jurgens, Adjutant ~ (402) 645-3895. Post meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Senior Center serves noon meals for seniors on Monday through Friday except on holidays. They also have different activities everyday after lunch. Senior Center also provides Meals on Wheels program.
